THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER role is a challenging role focusing on maximising accounts and opening new business opportunities in the food service and retail wholesale market.

  • Sourcing new business through leads provided by the telesales office and territory prospecting
  • Working closely with all stakeholders to manage and expand the business with regional foodservice accounts
  • Development of existing client base
  • Sales strategy and client targeting. Target clients include: Restaurants, Hotels, Coffee Shops and Pubs, Catering Companies, etc.

Sales Manager - Retail MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop new and innovative ways of selling the company’s products through multiple sales channels conventional and online.
  • Maintain loyalty from existing customers through regular visits, and the introduction of forthcoming product development.
  • Call on potential customers to introduce the company, leave sample products and information, with the aim of establishing new accounts.
  • Review own sales performance and developing yourself to achieve aims and objectives of the company, and reach agreed KPIs.
  • Anticipate potential opportunities by researching the relevant markets, competitors, locating potential events and marketing opportunities
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Excellent communicator, creative, commercially aware and astute, results driven, proactive, organised and competent
  • Proactive candidate with a food technology, development or commercial background preferably with 3 years experience in the food industry.

Commercial / Account/ Relation Manager - Food Business

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial/Account Manager to join our team to develop and manage the sales and profitability of a portfolio of customer accounts. You will be responsible for both brand and private label business development within the customer base.

You will take responsibility for managing existing business and look for opportunities to develop sales growth within your designated product category. Through effective market analysis you will present new growth opportunities while defending the existing business. Working with the NPD and Marketing teams you will help them understand the customers' needs and what new food products the market is missing. With a proven track record in account management within the foodservice sector, you will be result-focused with excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to build strong relationships with customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers
  • Work closely with NPD team to support delivery of new products
  • Share and understand data with the marketing team
  • Take responsibility for day to day Account Management activities such as customer queries, customer unit visits, hitting customer service levels.
  • Deliver annual sales plans
  • Work with customer to plan improvements, new developments, etc.

The ideal person for this role will have a background in the food industry within a sales environment, have excellent analytical and communication skills and be adept in developing strong customer relationships. Experience within the non-vegetarian category (chicken/seafood) would be advantageous but other food product experience can be considered.

NPD Manager- Food Manufacturing

We are seeking a strong NPD Manager to join a fast paced food manufacturing business with strong relationships with Major Retailers.

This role will give you the opportunity to work with some of the Major Food Service Players & Retailers. Therefore it is essential that you have strong retailer relationships and come with knowledge and understanding of launching new products into Retailers.

This is a complex highly fast paced food manufacturing operation, so the ideally candidate will come from a Frozen/Ambient/Chilled Food background. This role will have responsibility from concept to launch, with the need to present to customers.

You will manage a small team, both NPD and EPD. As NPD/Development Manager you will shape the NPD Strategy in line the business aims whilst working closely with the customers.

We are looking for people with drive and energy to develop ideas through to launch.

Asst NPD Manager / NPD Development Technologist

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior NPD Development Technologist or Assistant NPD Manager to join our busy NPD team as Assistant NPD Manager and support NPD Managers.

You will ideally be a Food science graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience within a Food manufacturing environment (Frozen / Ambient/ Chilled), currently working within a similar NPD / Product Development position and demonstrate a real passion for Food.

We are seeking someone who has first-hand customer relationship management experience who strives to exceed customer expectations and who goes the extra mile. Communication skills are key as ability to present to clients is essential. Strong project management skills are essential as well as excellent organisation skills, time management and ability to multitask.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Work with Chefs of Major customers.

Process Innovation Technologist

We are looking for Process technologists for our large, fast paced, innovative food factory, to be part of the product development process, by way of undertaking duties associated with product/process trials and technical/quality evaluation inline with site, Company and customer requirements.

Must have some experience of working in process / technical role. You will either have had a placement working in food manufacturing in process technology or be currently in a role as a technologist seeking to secure a new challenge with a business with real career opportunities. If you know your critical paths, are an excellent communicator and want to work with some of the most interesting products in the Ambient/Frozen/Chilled market this is for you. As Process Technologist no two days are the same so you have to be adaptable and resilient! You will work as part of a process technology team working closely with technical, production and NPD.

Responsibilities:
  • Undertake trials in-line with plant requirements and evaluate trials for feasibility
  • Scale up new products by planning and running factory trials.
  • Establish process capabilities, including evaluation of equipment.
  • Ensure customer requirements and specifications are met
  • Document all data - Organoleptics, shelf-life etc,
  • Generation of site HACCP for all new products.
  • Site risk assessments & Allergen control
  • Identification of safety and quality checks for each new product / material
  • Validations & post launch evaluation of processes.

The Food Application Specialist is responsible for ensuring a technical support function for the sales and service team on a national basis and to support the introduction and role out of new products.

  • Work with the Sales & BD Managers to demonstrate and ensure the efficient use of our products by our Food customers.
  • Conducting training programs to both external customers and to our sales personnel.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

Forstar is a leading convenience food business operating 3 Ambient Production Lines and 5 Frozen/Chilled Production Lines at its plant at Navi Mumbai. The products manufactured in this plant are categorised under Raw, Chilled, Marinated, Breaded & Cooked processing stages and into RTE, RTC & RTF categories (Veg & Non-Veg).

PRODUCTION PLANNER

The purpose of the role is to produce, communicate and manage an effective and efficient production plan. Monitor attainment of planned production and forecasted sales. Carry out any required corrective actions to give balance to a stable plan. To be responsible for the day to day management of production planning ensuring labour and work is allocated appropriately in order to gain maximum efficiencies.

Accountabilities:
  • To be responsible for direct liaison with the sales teams in order to anticipate changes in customers ordering patterns and variations in quality of products from average orders.
  • To provide the production teams & raw material controllers with an accurate advanced forecast of customer requirements.
  • To liaise with sales staff and account managers with regard to customer product launches, de-lists and disseminate any information regarding customer activities.
  • To oversee control of stock levels of both raw material and finished goods.
  • To liaise with general management, operations, sales, warehousing, NPD, etc with regard to stock levels, orders, new product launches, sales promotions and shortages.
  • To ensure that all relevant production documentation is completed and checked.
  • To ensure procedures are carried out to the standards laid down by the business.

Operations Manager

The role will be to manage the production operations over the site, fully responsible for people, driving further efficiencies, improving the performance of operations, equipment and systems and ensuring that the customers get what they want when they want it. This role will challenge you as the business is fast moving, dynamic and demanding. You will be responsible for a team of operatives ensuring the product is produced, prepared and packed on time, but most importantly that it is done to the budgeted cost.

This is a great job in a fast moving business for a talented and ambitious operations manager. You will have previous experience of managing a team of site manufacturing team effectively and will also possess the following experience:

  • At least 5 years experience within working in the food manufacturing industry.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing processes- Frozen/Ambient/Chilled.
  • Enable the development of a short to medium continuous performance improvement strategy, covering efficiency and quality across all the function
  • The skills to act as a mentor in developing potential in other business functions.

Production Line Supervisor / Leader

Being the Production Line Supervisor/Leader, you will support the Company in optimising the line efficiency and control across all the production lines in the nominated location.

The key responsibilities are set out below:
  • Ensuring Production of the whole Frozen/Ambient/Chilled Prepared Food Product line including all aspects of the process from raw material intake to despatch.
  • Adherence to customer specifications
  • Liaising with Managers to determine daily/weekly production requirements
  • Ensure that sufficient manpower is available to complete the planned production.
  • Monitor raw material intake and processing quality and report back any adverse findings
  • Achievement of the daily and weekly production plan.
  • Achievement of Standard labour hygiene and efficiencies.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment across the line.
  • Achieving line efficiencies, material usage variances and absenteeism, waste, cost.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement.
  • Shift documentation to be filled out accurately each day.
  • Planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory.

Skills & Experience
  • Good basic education, must be numerate and literate.

Due to the needs of the job a willingness to accept a flexible attendance pattern is essential. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of working at Supervisor level in a similar environment and have the skills to manage a large team of operatives. You must be able to build relationships with your team and with customers and should be computer literate with an understanding of spread-sheets.

Commis / Cooks – Production Line

As a Commis I you are responsible for the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities whereby your role will include key responsibilities as:

  • Support Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in the daily operation and work
  • Work according to the menu specifications by the Chef de Partie
  • Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the Hotel
  • Control food stock and food cost in your section
  • Prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections of the main kitchen or satellites
  • Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks
  • Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques
  • Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control
Food Technology Graduate Trainee Program

Forstar manufacture Ambient/Frozen/Chilled products including base gravies, ready curries, ready meals, desserts, salads, soups, snacks, oven-ready products, etc for all the major multiples. We are a highly innovate company, with strong values.

This Food Technology Graduate Trainee Program is a Technical role that will have you working with New Product Development, Manufacturing, Purchasing and many other departments to ensure we develop and manufacture safe, high quality products. You will help others in understanding what can and can't be done, meeting our customer and legal requirements in the most efficient and effective way. You will need to be decisive, confident and firm in approach coupled with a desire to continue learning and developing your skills.

Content: Two 12 month work placements doing real jobs with real responsibility, two different roles in two different businesses. The placements are arranged so as to give as broad an exposure as possible to different products, processes and customers. Typical assignments could be Quality Auditor (where you will have responsibility for monitoring compliance with technical standards and helping your colleagues to resolve any issues identified), Process Technologist (involving the safe development of new product concepts into real products) or in Technical Systems (helping develop and maintain due diligence systems for the business). After two years you will move into your first permanent role to continue your career development with the potential to reach a Technical Manager role within 7-10 years.
